Health Care Reform Information Sessions
CLICK HERE FOR LATEST INFORMATION ON THE AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA ACT
In early September I held three information sessions across the 23rd Congressional District to discuss legislation that will improve our healthcare system - the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act (H.R. 3200). I believe this bill would go a long way to ensure that all Americans always have access to affordable and quality healthcare, lower costs and increase coverage.
The bill implements commonsense consumer protections like prohibiting insurance companies from denying coverage because of pre-existing medical conditions – such as pregnancy or acne – or refusing to cover medical expenses after a serious injury or diagnosis. It also ends “gender rating” policies which charge women higher premiums just because they are women, eliminates co-pays for preventive care services, and closes the Medicare Part D “donut hole.”
Below you will find the materials given out to all attendees at the forums, the PowerPoint presentation I used to explain how the bill works, and other explanatory information. Please feel free to contact my office if you would like further information.
