Sharing AARP's Health Law Guide

Dear Friend,

I wanted to make sure you saw AARP’s Health Law Guide, a new online tool to help you learn more about how the Affordable Care Act (ACA)—or health reform—may affect you. This is a free tool and is available in both English www.aarp.org/healthlawguide and Spanish www.aarp.org/guiadelaleydesalud.

The Guide shows personalized benefits and changes as a result of the law and may assist you in understanding what benefits are available to you currently and will be available in the future. The ACA created numerous benefits for seniors and the population at large, but many people don’t know about them or find the details can be difficult to understand fully. This tool may be useful in separating out myth from fact and accessing the opportunities you qualify for.

The ACA will help shift our health care system from one that will only treat you when you are sick, to one that focuses on keeping us all healthy. It will also hold insurance companies accountable and end some of their most egregious practices, like refusing coverage to people with preexisting conditions or dropping them when they get sick.
